Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Review

The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro is a thin, light, Ultrabook style laptop that's a follow-up to the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13. The 360-degree hinge allows the Yoga Pro 2 to work well as a convertible Ultrabook with four shape-shifting abilities-laptop, stand, tent, and tablet. Lighter than the first generation Yoga 13, this Ultrabook is just over 3 pounds and 0.61 inch thick, the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Tablet is durable and well-built. Made of rubbery, soft matte gray material, the outer shell resists scratches and fingerprints.

When the Yoga 2 is folded back as a thick tablet slate, the keyboard is exposed. In this mode, the keyboard and touchpad are deactivated.

The screen can be folded back 180 degrees and the system put in kiosk mode. In this position, the screen can be used to show videos, presentations, and photographic slides to the audience.

The Lenovo's screen has rubber rimmed edges so that it can stand upside-down in tent mode.

As a Windows 8 laptop, the Yoga 2 Pro includes a program, €Yoga Picks€ that suggests different apps for the screen configuration. The apps can be downloaded by following links to the Windows store. Pre-loaded apps include Evernote Touch, Zinio, Kindle, Ebay, FilmOnTelevison, rara music, Accuweather and Dragon Assistant. Lenovo has also included their brand of apps, such as Yoga Chef, Lenova Companion and others.

Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Specifications

The screen is an ultra-high resolution 3,200 x 1,800 pixels (QHD), 13.3-inch touchscreen display. The bright IPS screen is perfect for viewing 4K videos.

The keyboard has back-lit, slightly curved black keys with white edges. The keyboard's backlighting is helpful when working in dimly lit areas such as coffee houses and public transportation. The sensitivity of the trackpad can be adjusted for ease of use.

The Yoga 2 Pro's specifications include an Intel Core i5-4200U processor (1.6 GHz) with Intel HD Graphics 4400, 4GB or optional 8 GB of DDR3 memory, and 128 or optional 512 GB SSD(Solid State storage). The average tested battery life is around 6 hours.

The power socket, UBS 2.0 port, and micro HDMI port which is 4K capable are located on the left side of the Ultrabook. On the right side are the power/charging light, power button, a button for rotation lock of the display, volume up/down buttons, 3.5mm headphone/mic jack, and a USB 3.0 port.

The versatile Yoga 2 Pro's functional design and solid performance makes it an excellent laptop for getting work done on the train or viewing movies in bed.
